2026 Applications must be received no later than May 1, 2026

In 1981 the W. Vernie Reed Scholarship Fund was established as a living memorial to the late W. Vernie Reed, General Secretary-Treasurer of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, who represented our Northwest Region. Since that time, the scholarship fund has awarded 307 scholarships totaling almost half a million dollars to our members, their children and grandchildren from various Local Unions throughout the Region. We should all take great pride that we have established such a fund in memory of one of LIUNA’s past leaders, who fought so hard for every LIUNA member, Local Union and District Council.

Please find attached information regarding the Fred & Muriel Lebold Scholarship for 2026.   The deadline for submitting your application is  APRIL 20, 2026.  Scholarships are awarded for $3,000 each.

The Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada allocates awards in the fall of each year to a son or daughter of parents or guardians who derive their principal income from pipeline construction and who are enrolled in a full-time program leading to a diploma or degree. Post graduate students may also be considered. All applications must be submitted by October 17, 2025.
